Vision and Purpose
Columbia River Institute of Massage Therapy is designed around and dedicated to the continual advancement of the massage therapy profession through the superior training of future massage therapists. Our education is evidence-based with artistic elements interwoven throughout, representing what we believe to be the leading model of massage therapy.
The school is small by design, being able to focus on the individuality of each future massage therapist.
The curriculum is heavily science-based with a large focus on critical thinking rather than memorization. Group activities to challenge and expand conventional ways of learning are incorporated on a regular basis.
The student clinic is a supervised internship in which the students get 150 hours of hands-on experience in a simulated clinic environment. A wide variety of patients are sought out for the most diverse types of experiences possible.
The students work in the community, network with other professions as well as organize and participate in local massage events to raise money for charities or groups that could not normally afford massage.
